Laurent Craste is an award winning sculptor with a unique series of abused ceramics, aptly titled “Abuse”. Using knifes, axes, baseball bats and more, Craste has fashioned the ceramics reacting to the “violence” of the mentioned tools, although instead of breaking, the pieces bend and yield as though they were actually soft bodies. As explained from his site, “A deliberately caused “accident” changes the appearance of the vases: soiled, covered with graffiti, trampled, cracked, nailed to the wall, subjected to the worst treatment, yet remaining recognizable. This violence is specifically that of the creator, since the absolute negation of the piece, smashing it to pieces, has not been “implemented””. However deep you want to get into thinking about the pieces is up to you,

Artists deserve respect. Even if it bothers you and you don't like their work; refrain from negative opinions, non-constructive remarks. Opt for an objective analysis of the work as well as a good understanding of the author's intentions..Thx
