Matthias Haker is a Potsdam-born photographer and artist currently living in Dresden, Germany. He’s specializing in architectural and interior photography as well as people, portrait, fashion and wedding photography. He is particular interested in abandoned buildings and architecture. Let’s take a look at his decay photography collection showing haunting beauty of abandoned buildings around Europe.
Mr Haker explained: ‘In general I’d say my work is all about beauty. Even though I can understand the sadness that overcomes people when seeing those buildings in the desolate state they are in, I usually do not try to express sadness, creepiness or anything like that in my work.’

Ce n’est pas possible que l’on puisse abandonner un aussi bel endroit, je ne peut pas y croire.
C’est magnifique !
Merci pour ce superbe article.
Bonne journée à toi.

Even though the photographer says he’s not trying to portray sadness in these wonderful photos, one can’t help but be saddened by the loss of such beautiful art and architecture.
