Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong – Summertime
Louis Armstrong
African-American jazz singer and trumpeter
Born | in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA |
Died | in New York City, New York, USA (heart attack) |
Birth Name | Louis Daniel Armstrong |
Nicknames | The King of the Jazz Trumpet Satchmo Pops |
Louis Armstrong grew up poor in a single-parent household. He was 13 when he celebrated the New Year by running out on the street and firing a pistol that belonged to the current man in his mother’s life. At the Colored Waifs Home for Boys, he learned to play the bugle and the clarinet and joined the home’s brass band. They played at socials, picnics and funerals for a small fee. At 18 he got a job in the Kid Ory Band in New Orleans. Four years later, in 1922, he went to Chicago, where he played second coronet in the Creole Jazz Band. He made his first recordings with that band in 1923. In 1929 Armstrong appeared on Broadway in “Hot Chocolates”, in which he introduced Fats Waller‘s “Ain’t Misbehavin’, his first popular song hit. He made a tour of Europe in 1932. During a command performance for King George V, he forgot he had been told that performers were not to refer to members of the royal family while playing for them. Just before picking up his trumpet for a really hot number, he announced: “This one’s for you, Rex.”

Ella Fitzgerald
African-American jazz vocalist
Born | in Newport News, Virginia, USA |
Died | in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA (complications from diabetes) |
Birth Name | Ella Jane Fitzgerald |
Nicknames | The First Lady of Song The First Lady of Jazz The Queen of Jazz Lady Ella |
On Saturday, June 15th, 1996, an era in jazz singing came to an end, with the death of Ella Fitzgerald at her home in California. She was the last of four great female jazz singers (including Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and Carmen McRae) who defined one of the most prolific eras in jazz vocal style. Ella had extraordinary vocal skills from the time she was a teenager, and joined the Chick Webb Orchestra in 1935 when she was 16 years old. With an output of more than 200 albums, she was at her sophisticated best with the songs of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, of George Gershwin, and of Cole Porter. Her 13 Grammy awards are more than any other jazz performer, and she won the Best Female Vocalist award three years in a row. Completely at home with up-tempo songs, her scat singing placed her jazz vocals with the finest jazz instrumentalists, and it was this magnificent voice that she brought to her film appearances. Her last few years, during which she had a bout with congestive heart failure and suffered bilateral amputation of her legs from complications of diabetes, were spent in seclusion.

Yes it’s a blog art! see all categories.
Thank you for your compliments and remarks.
I am surprised that my articles can make a theologian happy!
I like what is related to Russia I think I have origins.
And I like beauty.
Your face attracted me as if I read softness, firmness and intelligence.
All those years spent studying have impressed me.
But I think you are in a kind of parallel.
It Is such an abyss between art and faith in a religion? I am an atheist.and anti clericale, etc …
An interesting subject but now in opposition with my personal ethics.
Apart from the fact that art is also an illusion and that I am faithful to it.
Of course you are welcome, dear!

Yes, you are right with my parallelism and you are subtly and accurately describe my position in this reality. I actually situate in an abyss between art and faith, suppose that source of divine around us is a beauty, which we can touch in, look in or imbibe in. Thanks a lot for quick color changes in theme! This is it! This is pretty and nice!

You said: “suppose that source of divine is a beauty, which we can touch, look in or imbibe in”.
I think this definition is simply the definition of life! Nothing else…
Why always want to attribute things to someone or an entity?
Of course, life is a mystery. I am accommodates.
Can we know one day?
Life is for me a combination of circumstances. Pure coincidence!
And nothing is defined in advance; as there is no destiny.
The only sacred things are and the things we do with passion, the beings we love.
And when I speak of beauty, I take into account that it is also the sum of multiple defects that make things beautiful.
My vision of beauty is personal, it is a critical and automatic look that I carry on what I see,
I seek creativity like I hope to offset the ugliness I saw in every soul.

Hi, dear Vanina!
Many-many thanks for visiting my website and that huge amount of likes! Well, it was really incredible! I see the comments immediately after publication, but daily fuss and time of the day doesn’t let me answer very quickly. In addition I need to say, that I started to write in English openly just a month ago and I need some time to correctly translate content.
Your blog is the first which impressed me and which I worth as beautiful and attractive! You know, I had had a secret thoughts to make with my blog something like you doing… I like small flowers! LOL
I find one or another beauty as the divine sunlight spots in our reality and you are right, when you said “this is simply definition of life” and when you “offset the ugliness in every soul”. You are right in that deepest things. Life – the very best definition, but in addition I would like to dissolve it in something primary, in something primordial. For example, in bright light or blinding flash, in immortal love, in an idea of beauty etc. This complements and fills out my the world’s picture and any sort of religious backgrounds is not necessary here. That’s it.

Hi Vadim
I thank you for this long and beautiful message, you are adorable.
I understand very well.
I’m in no hurry and be quiet I’ll be there.
Anyway it’s a bit the same for me: I’m French and I have to translate everything …
You are more talented than I am in English, and fortunately we have a language that is almost mastered; that’s why I can read your english.
For me it is very good.
For other reasons than yours I can have difficult schedules to follow.
But all the same, it’s magic to talk to one country to another!
See you soon
Vanina

I know nothing about russia except that it’s a strong and proud people, a lot of intellectual artists etc …
