Giant Burnt Matches Sculptures by Wolfgang Stiller.

Matchstickmen is the creation of Germany based sculptor Wolfgang Stiller.

He attaches full-sized head molds to lengths of square lumber, creating an illusion of a match burnt into a man.

The life-sized, burnt down matchsticks with human heads symbolize how people burn out and get left behind in a society that only focuses on economic growth, wealth and a stellar career.

While Stiller leaves the meaning of the artworks open for interpretation the pieces exist in a surprisingly strange area between morbid and humorous. Wolfgang Stiller was born 1961 in Wiesbaden, and currently his studio is in Berlin.

Artists deserve respect. Even if it bothers you and you don't like their work; refrain from negative opinions, non-constructive remarks. Opt for an objective analysis of the work as well as a good understanding of the author's intentions..Thx
