David Oliveira’s floating sculptures made of wire

Scribbled Wire Sculptures by David Oliveira

Lisbon-born sculptor David Oliveira creates delicate figurative sculptures using wire that’s formed to look like manically drawn ink sketches on top of photographs. Some pieces are even hung by invisible filament creating the illusion of hovering in place
Oliveira explores the potential of line and space through his sculptures, playing with detailed optical illusions that force a tri-dimensional perspective completed by the empty space that surrounds the piece. The viewer must fill in the gaps and imagine the volume in order to see the character portrayed.

Artists deserve respect. Even if it bothers you and you don't like their work; refrain from negative opinions, non-constructive remarks. Opt for an objective analysis of the work as well as a good understanding of the author's intentions..Thx
